Tula’s approach combines proprietary digital signal processing technology and advanced combustion control techniques to dramatically reduce the fuel consumption of internal combustion engines without compromising performance, emissions or drivability. This significant improvement in fuel efficiency is achieved through two mechanisms: by firing only as many cylinders as needed to provide the driver’s requested level of power and torque, and by operating each cylinder primarily at its optimal efficiency point. Sophisticated DSP-based control algorithms commanding dynamic cylinder firing fractions make this possible.

Extensive testing on-site at Tula and at an independent laboratory confirms that our innovative approach dramatically improves fuel efficiency while maintaining emissions performance in line with global regulations, thereby enabling automakers around the world to meet increasingly stringent fuel consumption and CO2 reduction goals.
